Description
Water softening resins are strong acid ion exchange resins. It can separate water hardness ions such as Ca2+, Mg2+ by replacing them with Na+ ions.
Purolite C-100E granulation structure
Purolite C-100E has a spherical structure, made of sodium-containing synthetic material, which is a strong acid ion exchange resin with a gel-like structure, derived from Styrene-divynylbenzene with sulfonic acid functional group. Granules are produced with characteristic specifications including:
- Polymer structure: Crosslinked Polystyrene Divinylbenzene
- Physical form: Light yellow grain
- Functional group: R-SO3 –
- Transport ion: Na+
- Shipping density: 800 g/l (50 lb/ft3)
- Specific Gravity, moist Na+ Form: 1.29
- Total exchange capacity: 1.9eq/l min. 4.9 eq/kg min.
- Operating temperature, Na+ Form: 40ºC (280ºF) max.
- Stable operating pH range: 0 – 14
Purolite C-100E resin Application
- Treatment of Ca+, Mg+ ions and unwanted metal ions in upstream water filtration systems
- Softens protective water before passing through the R.O filter in industrial water purifier systems
- Food and pharmaceutical filtration
- Clean water filtration for aquaculture
- Preparation of hydrometallurgical water, mining and separation of rare metals
- Clean water filtration protects boiler and circulating cooling system…
Purolite C100E granules soften water by separating water-hardening ions such as Ca2+, Mg2+ and replacing them with Na+ ions. After a period of use, the purolite seeds will be reconstituted with a solution of Nacl salts, which will help restore the original granular state, continue the process of softening the water.
