General working principle of dust filter bag:
The fabric bag filter device is a very effective dust collection device due to the dust film formed on the surface of the bag. The fabric provides a surface through which dust is collected through the following 4 mechanisms:
- Inertia acquisition: Dust particles that collide with fibers are placed perpendicular to the direction of the gas flow instead of changing direction with the gas flow
- Blocking: Particles do not pass through the fiber contact surface because the distance between fibers is very small.
- Brownian motion: Light particles are diffused, increasing contact between particles and the collector surface.
- Electrostatic force: The presence of an electrostatic charge on particles and filters can increase dust retention.
The combination of these mechanisms leads to the formation of a dust film on the filter, which ultimately increases obstruction of air flow. Therefore, after each working process, it is necessary to clean the surface of the filter cloth.

Main dust filter process:

Features of dust filter bags:
- The fabric is usually sewn into a circular dust filter bag with a diameter (the mouth of the dust filter bag, also known as the smallest non-mouth is phi 50mm to 600mm ….or larger depending on the requirements of the customer) and has a length from 0.3m to 2m. Sometimes sewing into a rectangular box width B = 20 – 60mm, length L = 0.6 – 2m. In 1 filter system can be designed many interconnected bags divided into many compartments.
- With the specification of sewing round and long bags, people usually close 1 end, the other end is empty. When working, the drum head is connected to the neck that guides the filter air into the bag on the face to the separator of the dust filter chamber. When air is released before filtration into the bag through the neck, the air flow passes through the fabric bag to the clean air chamber and exits. This direction will cause the cloth bag to stretch itself into a circular cylindrical filter surface. With this item, the mouth of the bag connected to the spear side is turned downwards to remove the dust from the bag to clean the fabric surface.
- When letting air go in the direction from the outside to the inside of the bag, there must be a bag stretch frame made of metal so that the bag does not collapse when working. With this diagram, the mouth of the bag that speaks to the side is usually turned upwards.
With rectangular dust filter bags, the only scheme is for air to pass from the outside to the inside of the bag, and the inside of the bag must have a fabric bag stretch frame.
The distance between the bags is from 30 – 100mm. - Reverting the filter surface can be done after allowing air to pass through the device and cleaning dust on the fabric surface in 2 ways:
– Mechanical vibration thanks to a special
mechanism- Reverse by compressed air or clean air - Because it is characterized by intermittent work cycles alternating with revert cycles, this device always has two or more compartments (or blocks in the same compartment) so that it can stop working each compartment (or block) without dusting. The air load of conventional filter bags is 150 – 200m / h. The resistance of the device is about 120 – 150 kg / m2. The dusting cycle is 2-3 hours.
